What is MERV?

Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values, or MERVs, define the ability of a filter to capture larger particles between 0.3 and 10 microns.

You have an HVAC system in your home, your business, just about anywhere you go. The filters that are part of that system play a huge role in your own air quality and overall health of that space. Regular changing of your filters can increase the quality and efficiency of your systems along with helping in your fight against viruses.

The chart below (Click for a download copy) defines the different types of filters, the MERV rating and the kinds of things it can help filter out of the air. While the higher the rating, the more costly they can be, put against the status of your own health, it's hard to not justify the extra expenditure.
